This is a full time position working a Monday-Friday schedule in our Mackenzie, BC operation.  Working in a supportive team environment you will find opportunities for continued professional development and career growth.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership: Manage employee and contractor safety, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide ongoing training and coaching to your team.
  • Fibre Supply & Scheduling: Maintain and execute a 12–24 month development schedule aligned to mill demand, ensuring readiness for harvest while optimizing cost and fibre mix.
  • Regulatory & Environmental Compliance: Oversee preparation and submission of all permit packages, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with provincial regulations, FSP/HFP requirements, and stewardship commitments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, local government, and industry partners to support access, cultural values, and operational success.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the annual planning budget, monitor contractor costs, and ensure programs are delivered safely and within budget.
  • Team Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your team, supporting their professional growth and fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Leverage technology (GIS, LiDAR, RoadEng, etc.) and new approaches to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry or Natural Resource Management (RPF or RFT designation preferred).
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in forestry, including experience supervising Planning and Permitting operations.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Strong project management capabilities
    • In-depth knowledge of BC forestry legislation and policies
    • Proficiency in forestry technologies and software
    • Strong work ethic, and a love for the outdoors!
