Human Resources Coordinator

Location: Mackenzie, BC

About the Role

Conifex Timber Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at our Mackenzie, BC operations. This role is a key support position within a unionized, safety-sensitive mill environment and will play an important part in strengthening HR processes, improving consistency, and supporting both employees and leadership.

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, the HR Coordinator will provide hands-on administrative and coordination support across a broad range of HR functions, including attendance tracking, employee records, recruitment support, onboarding, union matters and day-to-day employee and supervisor inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration & Employee Support

  • Maintain accurate employee records, files, and HR documentation
  • Support attendance and absenteeism tracking, reporting, and follow-up
  • Assist with letters, forms, and documentation related to attendance, discipline, grievance and employee relations
  • Respond to routine employee and supervisor HR inquiries
  • Support Supervisors with employee matters

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate job postings, application tracking, and interview scheduling
  • Support onboarding and orientation activities for new hires
  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation

Labour Relations Support

  • Assist with documentation related to the collective agreement, grievances, and investigations
  • Support meeting coordination and record-keeping for labour relations matters
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience (industrial or unionized environment considered an asset)
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation, and confidentiality requirements
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); DATS experience is an asset
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
