Harvesting

Conifex employs sustainable logging practices, taking into consideration the non-timber values that are outlined in our Forest Stewardship Plans. One such example of these practices includes minimizing soil disturbance through judicious equipment use, by monitoring local weather and site conditions, and by harvesting at appropriate times of the year. Using proven techniques, we can retain critical riparian habitat features associated with streams, wetlands and lakes, and preserve stand-specific wildlife habitats via habitat areas and tree patches. Other areas are preserved to meet visual quality objectives (VQO) for scenic and recreational value.
